NHL Betting Online: Our Stanley Cup picks are ready to rock and roll here at Bookmaker Sportsbook! No matter whether you plan on doing some betting on the Tampa Bay Lightning or the Boston Bruins, this preview is sure to point you in the right direction to beat the NHL betting lines in Game 6.

Head Coach Guy Boucher is going to probably take a beating in the media over the next 36 hours or so, as he has a critical decision to make going into Game 6 of the Eastern Conference Finals. He benched Dwayne Roloson in favor of Mike Smith, who was making his first career start in the playoffs in Game 5, and needless to say, the plan really didn’t work out.

That being said, even though the Lightning didn’t make for successful Stanley Cup picks as +142 underdogs in Beantown, everyone knows that this was a duel that just as easily could have gone the other way if not for the outstanding play of Tim Thomas. For as great as that shutout was that he posted in Game 3, Thomas’ one goal effort in Game 5 was arguably more impressive, especially on the stick save that he made sprawling across the goal on Teddy Purcell on the shot that really should have tied the score at 2-2 in the 3rd period.

Tampa Bay’s defense really did a nice job in Game 5 though, and those who made Stanley Cup picks on it really should have felt alright about that situation. It’s going to be hard to go against the Lightning back on their home ice if they play like that for the full 60 minutes once again, as they were certainly the more physical team and the one that produced more scoring opportunities in the game. Heck, for one of the first times in the playoffs, the Lightning dominated the shots on goal stat, winning the battle 34-20.

Still, with their season hanging in the balance once again, the Bolts will persevere as -120 favorites, and they’re going to be the subject of our Stanley Cup picks on Wednesday night. Boston is lined at +100, while the ‘total’ has been set at 5.5 over +105. Tampa Bay has been as gritty and tenacious a team as there is in the second season, so don’t look for their season to come to a close on home ice come Wednesday night!

Hockey is considered by some the most difficult sport in which to wager on. When betting on a Hockey event you have the option of wagering either on the money line and also what is called the “puck line”.

The puck line is similar to the point spread used in Basketball and Football betting.

For example: San Jose Sharks is a -1/2 point underdog and Team LA Kings is (e) even. If you wish to wager on San Jose Sharks you will be giving up -1 1/2 goals. If you wish to wager on LA Kings you will be given 1/2 goal. What this means is that if you were to wager on San Jose Sharks they would need to win the game by 2 or more goals for you to win your wager. If you were to wager on LA Kings you would simply have to have Team LA Kings win the game outright as there is no way to score a 1/2 point in hockey.

Hockey betting rules vary from book to book so make sure you check with yours to see what their policy is regarding ties. In this scenario if the game were to end in a tie, most honest books would void your wager and be a no action your money at risk will be refunded to your online sports betting account.

Wager on Stanley Cup Hockey

Bet on your favorite NHL team today. With our Stanley Cup Odds already live and ready to go,

NHL Playoff Betting

NHL teams play a total of 82 regular season matches, with the eight best teams qualifying for the National Hockey League Stanley Cup Playoffs. The Play-offs is a best-of-seven knockout tournament that decides the Eastern and Western Conference Champions, who then meet in the Stanley Cup Finals.

It combines the money line hockey odds with the point spread. Here’s an example of a puck line using two playoff teams. In the first game of the Oilers-Sharks series, the Sharks as the home team, with a hot goalie and as the higher seed were favored. The puck line would have looked something like this.

Edmonton Oilers +1.5 -180

San Jose Sharks -1.5 +160

A money line, used in baseball and hockey, takes the place of a point spread. Money line betting is simply wagering on a sports betting event based on a given price rather than a point spread. The team bet on has to win the game outright, regardless of the score. The minus sign (e.g.-130) always indicates the favorite and the amount you must bet to win $100. The plus sign (e.g.+120) always indicates the underdog and the amount you win for every $100 bet. Using this example, therefore, you would bet $130 to win $100 on the favorite, while for the underdog you would bet $100 to win $120.

The over/under is the number of points sports books expect will be the total score for the contest (both teams combined, overtime included). You bet on whether the total points scored will be more or less than this number. As with point spread bets, you must generally wager $110 to win $100.

Betting on a point spread or money line is sometimes called betting “sides” – that is, betting that one side or the other will be the winner – while betting the over/under is referred to as betting “totals”. Stanley Cup Betting Glossary Here

The Stanley Cup was originally known as the Dominion Hockey Challenge Cup Shortly thereafter, Lord Stanley purchased a gold-lined silver bowl on an ebony base, measuring seven inches high and 11-1/2-inches in diameter for the sum of 10 guineas (approximately $50); appointed two Ottawa gentlemen, Sheriff John Sweetland Philip D. Ross, as trustees of that cup; and set the following preliminary conditions to govern the annual competition.

A lot of people are intimidated by betting on hockey because they don’t understand the money line. Though the money line might seem complicated, it is actually rather simple. All you have to do is pick the winner of the game. It is very similar to betting on baseball, except that you don’t have to worry about listing pitchers. However, hockey can be very profitable for bettors especially in October, where not a lot of events are going on.

For example: Dallas Stars is a -1/2 point underdog and Team Toronto Maple Leafs is (e) even. If you wish to wager on Dallas Stars you will be giving up -1 1/2 goals. If you wish to wager on Toronto Maple Leafs you will be given 1/2 goal. What this means is that if you were to wager on Dallas Stars they would need to win the game by 2 or more goals for you to win your wager.

If you were to wager on Toronto Maple Leafs you would simply have to have Team Toronto Maple Leafs win the game outright as there is no way to score a 1/2 point in hockey. Hockey betting rules vary from book to book so make sure you check with yours to see what their policy is regarding ties. In this scenario if the game were to end in a tie, most honest sports books would void your wager and be a no action your money at risk will be refunded to your online sports betting account.

bmaker.ag has posted odds on the first celebrity breakup before 2011. With trends catching on quickly in Hollywood, CEO Mickey Richardson and his team at bmaker.ag, one of the leading sportsbooks, have calculated the odds on which celebrity couple may split next.

The favorite is Heidi Montag and Spencer Pratt, who were listed with +150 odds, or near even.

Another favorite is Tom Brady and Gisele Bundchen. They were listed at +450 odds.

That one doesn’t seem likely as the news this week has the two all lovey dovey and happy to be spending their first Christmas with the Patriots quarterback’s new born son of a few months ago.

The rumors of a Brad Pitt/Angelina Jolie breakup have been swirling for months now. Whether this happens in the coming days before New Year’s doesn’t seem likely. Now we’re hearing they may wed in India.

Jay Z and Beyonce are also on the list at 4/1 odds.

And, for the second year in a row, online site bmaker.ag has decided to place odds on a number of black Friday shopping competitions.

The dealmaker is letting consumers literally place bets on which retailer will have the largest number of sales on black Friday, and which will sell the most iPads.

As of this post, odds are in favor of Walmart having the most black Friday sales, and Best Buy selling the largest number of iPads.

Last year, Bookmaker accepted bets on how much the average black Friday shopper will spend, as well as the total number of black Friday shoppers in stores and online.

The top eight teams in each conference qualify for the NHL playoffs. Division leaders are seeded #1, #2, and #3. The next five best teams were seeded fourth through eighth.

Seeding is determined by: point total, wins, points obtained in games against tied teams and goal differential.

There are three rounds of playoffs in each conference (first round, conference semi finals and conference finals). The winner in these three rounds will be declared the Eastern or Western Conference Champion. In the final round, these two face off against each other for the Stanley Cup.

The 2011-21 NHL Season will run from October – June 2012. This season is the 93rd in the National Hockey League and there will be 30 teams competing for this season’s trophy.

The NHL season will see a ton of great games to bet on. There will be 82 games for each team, 41 at home and 41 on road, so there is plenty of opportunity to get the best NHL hockey Odds. There are quite a few good teams out there, so its really anybody game. The NHL keeps getting better and better, and this year’s talent level might be the best in years!

Now that the NHL trade deadline is over, most teams will settle in and make that final push for the playoffs. The right move at the deadline can be all that is needed to propel a team into the postseason or even jump to the top of the pack. At the same time, not making a move can greatly damage postseason hopes.

The NHL Playoffs mark one of the most exciting and thrilling moments in all of sports. With Lord Stanley’s Cup on the line, you can bet that every shot will be a little crisper and every punch will be thrown a little harder.

Sixteen teams will begin the NHL Playoffs, but only two will have the right to participate in the Stanley Cup Finals, one of the most hard-hitting forms of hockey imaginable.

In the NHL Playoffs, players seem to skate and play harder than they do in the regular season because each shift of every period could be the beginning of the end for each NHL Playoff team.

NHL Playoffs Format

Best-of-7 format is used in all stage of playoffs. Home-ice advantage is given to the higher seed in all rounds except the first, when all division winners are assured a seed no lower than three. Home-ice advantage for the Stanley Cup Finals is determined by points. The team with home-ice advantage is at home for Games 1, 2, 5 and 7 and on the road for games 3, 4 and 6.

NHL Betting is our specialty. When betting the NHL, most people are familiar with the straight line bets, a hockey bet in which the favored team must cover the points spread to win or the underdog, who is given a certain number of goals, must win outright or not lose the hockey game by more than the points given. What many people don’t know is that there are many other exciting NHL betting options, adding to the thrill every time someone crosses the opposing blue line with the puck! Stanley Cup Playoff Odds
